The Øresund Tunnel is the largest monolithically constructed tunnel in the world. During the realisation of this project, PERI has fulfilled our expectations. Even the tight schedule wasn´t a problem, neither was compliance with the strict dimensional tolerances during the construction. PERI has undoubtedly kept its promises with regard to performance and technical knowledge.

PERI solution

  • two stationary hydraulic assembly lines for the formwork units in use (each had one base, two outside and five tunnel forms, four guide girders, various temporary foundations and two stopends)
  • utilisation of the cantilever launching method for construction
  • planning, fabrication and assembly of the forming machines in just 8 months
